J.F. Burns Elementary named Hall of Fame School
Congratulations to J.F. Burns Elementary on being named a 2011 Hall of Fame School by the Ohio Association of Elementary School Administrators (OAESA). This ranks JFB as the top elementary school in the region and one of the top seven in the state.

Kings Local School District Placed on the College Board's AP District Honor Roll
Kings Local School District is one of fewer than 400 public school districts in the nation to be honored by the College Board with a place on the 2nd Annual AP Honor Roll. The district received this award for simultaneously increasing student access to Advanced Placement coursework, while maintaining or increasing the percentage of students earning scores of 3 or higher on AP exams. Kings High School offers 13 AP courses, 33 honors courses, and one class about AP (multi-variable calculus). On average Ohio school districts with more than 3,000 students offer only seven AP classes. That is below the national average of 8.35 classes. Congratulations Kings High School!

Blue Ribbon Schools

The staff at Kings Mills Elementary has reason to celebrate. They were one of 314 schools nationwide chosen to be a 201011 Blue Ribbon School. This award honors schools throughout the nation that are academically superior or that have made significant improvements in closing the achievement gap. This is the most prestigious national award a public school can receive. J.F. Burns Elementary received this award in 1993-94, and South Lebanon Elementary received this award in 2008-09.
