Business Academy Philosophy
The Kings Business Academy is a two-year, junior and senior program that establishes a pathway for students to learn and employ different business principles and disciplines. The Business Academy at Kings High School will be offering co-requisite courses in Financial Accounting I & II, Marketing and Business Law, International Business, Introduction to Sports Management, and Sports Entertainment and Marketing. Students will not only learn about different business applications, but will be involved in a number of activities, case studies, roll-playing, and projects that are designed to be interactive and informative.
Students successfully completing the Business Academy program can earn articulated and/or transfer assurance guide (T.A.G.) college credits and scholarships from local colleges and universities. In addition, students will earn a guaranteed $3,000 scholarship through the Miami Valley Tech Prep Consortium. For additional information, see the course planner.
Technology Prep Programs
Sinclair Community College and Warren County Career Center/Kings High School have joined together to address the educational needs of the workforce with the development of Technology Programs. Kings High School currently offers Information Technology, Digital Design Technology and Business Technology. Tech Prep can be a seamless, four-year program spanning the junior year in high school through an associate’s degree that prepares students to begin a career or complete a bachelor’s degree. The planned sequence of courses minimizes duplication and provides students with an advanced skill level in their program of study. These arrangements are known as articulation agreements. They allow students to earn college credit while in high school if the student completes the programs’ requirements and receives a passing grade on the proficiency exam. For additional information, see the course planner.
