Congratulations to the Kings High School 2011 Graduating Class.
This year's senior athletes have accomplished a lot. On May 10, 11 scholar athletes attended an Athletic Signing Night. These seniors have committed to playing sports at the collegiate level next year.
On Tuesday, May 31, KHS held its yearly Academic Awards. All of the seniors stood together on the risers as the crowd cheered. Many students wore shirts from the universities and colleges they'll attend this fall. Throughout the evening, students were recognized for their achievements, scholarships and more.
For the second year in a row, students held a Graduation Baccalaureate at St. Margaret of York Church. Students performed solos, delivered memorable speeches, and honored someone important in their life with a white rose. There was also a special memorial for Katie Caudill.
At Graduation on Sunday, June 5, many students hugged, cried, and cheered as they graduated. This year's graduating class of 280 earned more than $4 million in scholarships, had four National Merit Honorees, two National Merit Finalists, and accumulated more than 32,000 hours of community service. Kings High School Principal Doug Mader encourages every class to leave their legacy, and without a doubt this class has left their mark on KHS Congratulations Grads!
