Kings Launches Diversity & Inclusion Website

Posted on: June 5, 2020
The Kings Local School District has been on a journey of cultural competency for over two years. Kings Social and Emotional Health Coordinator, Kim Sellers who oversees the District's Diversity and Inclusion Initiative, is proud to announce a new D&I website!

As a District, we have been committed to continuing our journey on the continuum of Cultural Competence. Diversity, Inclusion, and Cultural Awareness continue to be at the forefront of our goals for our district. Not only have we increased our initiatives in the area of Equity and Diversity, but we have also been working on a Cultural Competence and Equity page linked on our website, along with professional development in our district. We have a very strong Diversity and Inclusion Committee led by parents and community members.

Over this past week, we have been reminded of the challenges that continue to plague our nation. There isn't only one solution. What we do know is that with social and emotional learning and our continued commitment to this work, our district can play a significant role in cultivating the knowledge, mindsets, and skills to create a thriving, more equitable society.to be a part of the solution and a catalyst for change. As an institution that cares deeply for the physical, social, and emotional well being of our students, staff, families, and community, we renew our commitment to approaching all matters within our power through a lens of equity.
