Seniors...Ultimate Early Release
Seniors.... Take this one question survey if YOU WANT to be considered for this option. No need to fill it out if you are not interested!
In an effort to reduce class sizes to a safer level for the 2020-21 school year, we are considering an option for the Senior Class of 2021. Before this can happen, we would need to seek approval from the School Board. Thus, we are sending this survey to see if there is even interest and to gather data.
The Proposal: Seniors would be allowed to reduce their schedules to include only the courses they need to meet graduation requirements. (20 credits including specified credits in English, math, science, social studies, health, PE, art). Students/families choosing to do this must understand the following:
** The student must pass all courses as well as complete community service and state testing requirements.
** For a student to be eligible to participate in athletics, they must take 5 credits (2.5 credits per semester).
** A reduction in course load might impact college admissions and scholarship consideration. Families may wish to contact admissions offices before making this decision.
**Counselors will do their best to schedule the class periods with as few gaps as possible. Students will not be permitted to leave campus between classes.
