The Student Support Services Department is a resource for staff, students, and the community. The department oversees all aspects of special education within the district, including preschool special education, Section 504, and transition services. Providing strong instructional and behavioral supports to ensure students receive the individualized programming they need to be successful is our first priority. Please do not hesitate to contact the office with any questions.
Child Find
The Kings Local School District is in the process of locating, identifying, and evaluating all children with disabilities, birth through 21 years of age, who may be in need of special education and related services.
For infants and toddlers, a disability means a child has a delay in one or more of the following developmental areas: adaptive behavior, cognition, communication, physical development, vision, hearing, and/or social-emotional functioning.
For preschoolers and school-age children, a disability means having one or more conditions defined by federal regulations and state standards, including: autism, cognitive disability, specific learning disability, deaf-blindness, deafness, emotional disturbance, hearing impairment, multiple disabilities, orthopedic impairment, other health impairment, speech or language impairment, traumatic brain injury, visual impairment (including blindness), and developmental delay.
If you know a child who may have a disability, please contact the Director of Pupil Personnel at (513) 398-8050, ext. 11069.
