Join us for the Kings Community Learning Series on Marijuana

You’ve probably heard a lot about Marijuana in the media. From recreational and medicinal legalization to claims of its benefits. Everyone’s talking about it, but what do we know to be true?

To learn more, please join us for our upcoming Community Learning Series event, “Marijuana: Weeding out the Good from the Bad” on Tuesday, March 19 beginning at 7:00 pm at the Kings Junior High School Multipurpose Room (enter door D-5 from the parking lot located between the Kings Junior High School and the football stadium).

Discussion topic include::

·         What is marijuana?

·         Marijuana in the media

·         Effects, dangers and risks associated with marijuana use

·         Perception of harm among young people

·         Medical marijuana

·         Prevention strategies and how to talk to youth about marijuana

About the presenters:

Amy Fehrenbach – Amy is the Tobacco Prevention Specialist with Solutions Community Counseling and Recovery Centers. While her role is primarily involved with education, intervention and community development surrounding tobacco use prevention, she also has extensive knowledge on marijuana, including information about its recent legalization in Ohio and the harmful effects it has on one’s health. She will be assisting Tazeen in the facilitation of the presentation.

Tazeen Ahmed – Tazeen is the Prevention Specialist with Solutions Community Counseling and Recovery Centers. Much of her work involves facilitating educational and preventative programs within schools and the community around topics such as alcohol and drug awareness, parenting skills, self-esteem, decision making, communication, and other related topics.
