Online Free and Reduced Meal Application

Posted on: August 23, 2019
Free and Reduced Meal Application can now be completed online!

The Kings Local Food Service Department is a member of the National School Breakfast and Lunch Programs. With this program, these services for a free or reduced meal program are available.

Free or Reduced-priced meals for breakfast and lunch are available to families who believe they may qualify. Factors considered in the application process are household size and total household income. HOUSEHOLD SIZE is considered all persons, related or unrelated: Including parents, children, grandparents who live in your home and share living expenses. The TOTAL HOUSEHOLD INCOME is the income each household member received last month before taxes - this includes wages, social security, pension, unemployment, welfare, child support, alimony, and any other cash income.

Students who qualified last school year automatically qualify for the first 30 days of the school year.  However, a new application must be completed for the 2019-2020 school year within 30 days from the start of school to continue the program. In order to continue the program past Monday, September 30 for those currently on the program from last school year, the application needs to be sent into school in time to allow processing sending in the application prior to Friday, September 27, 2019. If you have a child that was on the program last year and you now have a newly enrolled student this year (example Kindergartner) a new application needs to be completed before the newly enrolled student can begin the meal program for the 2019-2020 school year.

Applications may be obtained by contacting your child's school or you can now apply ONLINE!
