School Fee Changes for the 2017-2018 School Year

Posted on: August 4, 2017

In an effort to be fiscally responsible, the Kings Administration reviewed and analyzed school fees for each grade level for the 2017-2018 school year. The fees were calculated based on the consumable supplies (paper, workbooks, planners) that will be used by each specific grade level. The goal was to ensure that the fees would cover only the supplies that will be used during the school year.

With this review, parents will find that some fees have dropped and some have increased. The district focused on being as financially responsible by negotiating with our vendor base to be sure we were receiving the most competitive pricing, as well as reducing the wastage of resources.

Kings Superintendent, Tim Ackermann said, “The district’s school fee structure hasn’t been evaluated in 6 years.  We will evaluate yearly going forward and will try to keep fees stable and consistent year to year. Our goal is to only charge fees based on the needs of our students.”

The Kings School District is committed to providing the highest quality education while continually trying to keep costs down. We thank the Kings Community for their financial support throughout the years.
