KINGS MILLS, OHIO - September 16, 2026 - Kings Local School District and Sharefax Credit Union have announced a new multi-year partnership - backed by a significant financial commitment from Sharefax - that brings exclusive arena naming rights, a student-run credit union, and custom-branded debit cards to the district, giving Kings students direct, hands-on experience with financial literacy while strengthening the district's ties to the local community.

The Kings Local Board of Education formally approved the partnership agreement at its September 15 meeting.

"We are extremely excited about the partnership with Sharefax Credit Union. This partnership will allow our students the opportunity to experience real world authentic learning within the walls of the new Kings High School. Students will gain valuable experience and develop advanced skills in this innovative, future-focused environment," said Greg Sears, Superintendent of Kings Local Schools.

Exclusive Naming Rights

As part of the agreement, Sharefax has made a significant financial commitment to become the sole naming-rights holder of the district's new arena, which will be known going forward as Sharefax Arena. Signage will include exterior building identification, stadium entry and lobby branding, and prominent recognition throughout the interior of the arena. The district expects the new name and signage to be in place for the grand opening of Sharefax Arena by December 2027.

A Student-Run Credit Union

The partnership also establishes a student-run credit union inside Kings High School, giving students the opportunity to take on real roles and responsibilities in day-to-day credit union operations as part of a dedicated high school course. The in-school branch will be staffed by students and supported by Sharefax employees, and will offer a full range of credit union services to students and staff.

"As a credit union, we look to create financial literacy wherever we can, and the opportunity to do that in such a broad way here at Kings was something we couldn't pass up," said Todd Cain, President and CEO of Sharefax Credit Union. "If you develop good financial habits early on, those habits carry forward for a lifetime. Kings is also near and dear to my heart - I've lived in this community for 20 years, and I currently have two kids enrolled at Kings High School. There's nothing that gives me more pleasure than seeing the Sharefax name go up on this building and being part of this community."

Kings-Branded Debit Cards

Rounding out the partnership, Sharefax will issue custom Kings-branded debit cards, giving students, families, and staff a way to show their Kings pride while banking with Sharefax.

How the Partnership Came Together

What began as a modest request, the Kings logo on a Sharefax debit card, became something far bigger. Sharefax representatives first approached Kings Local with that small, simple idea.

Kings Local leadership saw a much bigger opportunity. Rather than stop at a debit card, the district pitched Sharefax on becoming a true partner in preparing Kings students for their futures, proposing exclusive naming rights to the district's new arena and a fully functioning, student-run credit union inside Kings High School.

Speaking at the September 15 board meeting, Cain described how quickly the conversation grew, "because what happened next wasn't a conversation about debit cards, it was a much bigger partnership with Kings, in naming rights and in a credit union-run facility with our staff helping as the support mechanism behind it. Kudos to the team here at Kings for looking beyond something as small as a debit card to what we've built here, a much broader relationship we hope continues well into the future."

What began as a request for a logo on a debit card has grown into one of the most significant community partnerships in Kings Local's history, one built to give Kings students real, hands-on experience with financial literacy for years to come.
