Kings Early Childhood Center is your child's first experience in the Kings Local School District.   We provide excellent early childhood education and special education services to Kings’ youngest learners. The majority of our educators are licensed to teach both the general education curriculum and early childhood special education. We have an experienced and dedicated staff that delivers exceptional educational opportunities for Kings’ 3-5 year olds.  Kings Early Childhood Center is licensed by the Ohio Department of Education.  Our school provides the highest quality education that sets us apart from surrounding private entities.

At Kings Early Childhood Center, we believe that all children are unique.  We know that children learn and develop on a continuum. Our areas of study educate students at their level of learning and development to ensure growth. The preschool curriculum focuses on a blend of inquiry-based and hands-on learning with students’ interests at the heart of each unit.

All of the learning activities implemented incorporate Ohio’s Early Learning and Development Standards. Teachers use The Creative Curriculum for Preschool Sixth Edition and Heggerty’s Early Pre-Kindergarten and Pre-Kindergarten Phonological Awareness Programs as resources to help teach the early learning standards. Themed units of study use a play-based approach and incorporate all learning domains listed below:

Early Childhood Learning Domains

  1. Approaches Towards Learning- Engagement & Persistence, and Mindset

  2. Cognitive Development- Working Memory & Mental Flexibility

  3. Creative Development- Expressing ideas through visual arts, music, and dance
