Kings Superintendent Resigns

At a Special Meeting of the Kings Board of Education on Tuesday, April 6, 2021, the resignation of Superintendent, Tim Ackermann, was formally accepted. The Board of Education would like to take this opportunity to thank Mr. Ackermann for his hard work, dedication, and leadership over the past 6 years.  

Mr. Ackermann has served as Superintendent at Kings since August 1, 2015, and his resignation will be effective July 31, 2021. He has accepted the position of Assistant Superintendent for the Hamilton County Educational Service Center. Ackermann said, “I am constantly telling people what an amazing place the Kings School District is. I am proud of the work that our team has been able to accomplish the last six years and look forward to the growth that will continue at Kings.”

During the Special Meeting, the Board of Education held a discussion regarding the process to name a new Superintendent. Mr. Tom Isaacs, Superintendent of the Warren County Educational Service Center (WCESC), presented a search process, timeline, and hiring framework for the Board. 

The Board formally decided to utilize the Warren County Educational Service Center to facilitate the search for a new superintendent. The services will be provided at no cost to Kings. As a part of the process, the District will be asking for feedback from our community. We will be communicating the details of those meetings soon.

Below is a tentative timeline to fill the position is as follows:

Posting and applications April 6 to April 23
Stakeholder meetings Week of April 19
Board selection of first-round candidates for interviews Week of April 26
First-round of interviews Week of May 3
Second-round of interviews Week of May 10
Selection of finalist Any time after second round interviews
