Sammy Simonson Knight and Kings Jamboree

Posted on: August 17, 2015

The Kings Varsity Football team will host an OHSAA "Jamboree" scrimmage this Friday, August 21st playing host to the St. Xavier Bombers and the Northwest Knights.  The freshman will scrimmage St. Xavier at 5:00 p.m. and the Junior Varsity and Varsity will take on Northwest at 7:00 p.m. at Kings Stadium.  Gates will open at 4:30 p.m.

The Ohio High School Athletic Association permits schools across the state to participate in a third scrimmage (Jamboree) to help support catastrophic accident insurance for student-athletes throughout the school year.  In addition to supporting this cause, Kings Athletics, at the generous request of Sammy Simonson's family, will donate fifty percent of the admissions revenue generated to the local Make-A-Wish Foundation. Sammy Simonson is a 6 year old Kings student who has benefited from the Make-A-Wish Foundation.  In 2013, he was the Honorary Captain of a Kings Football Game.  Doug Kelly, President of the Make-A-Wish Foundation will be in attendance of the game.

Donations for the Make-A-Wish Foundation will be accepted at the game. Admission for the scrimmage is $4 per person and $2 will be donated to Make-A-Wish.  Passes will not be accepted.

We hope to see you Friday to help support our Knights and the Make-A-Wish Foundation!  The Knights will officially kick off their 2015 campaign when they travel north to take on the Lebanon Warriors in the 5th Annual Outback Steakhouse Boomerang Bowl on Friday, August 28th at 7:00 p.m.

We hope you can join us for "Sammy Simonson Knight" on Friday! Go Knights!
