As the Mental Health Coordinator for Kings Local School District, I serve as a key resource supporting student wellbeing and academic success. I work collaboratively with staff, families, and community partners to address the mental health needs of our student population.
Role Responsibilities
-
Serve as the primary point of contact for mental health services across the district
-
Provide professional consultation to school staff regarding student well-being concerns
-
Coordinate crisis response services, including appropriate assessment protocols
-
Implement data-driven support systems for students requiring various levels of assistance
-
Connect families with appropriate school and community resources
-
Facilitate professional development for staff on supporting student mental health
-
Organize educational opportunities for the Kings community on relevant wellbeing topics
According to recent data, approximately 1 in 5 youth ages 13-18 experience a significant mental health challenge. Half of all persistent mental health conditions begin by age 14, with three-quarters emerging by age 24. These realities underscore the importance of providing appropriate support services within our educational environment.
I remain dedicated to helping Kings students develop the resilience and skills needed for academic and personal success.

School-Based Therapy Services
Supporting your child's mental wellbeing is essential for their academic success and personal development. Our district recognizes that students who are experiencing emotional challenges may struggle to engage fully with their education.
To address these needs, we've established a partnership with Beech Acres Parenting Center, providing our students with accessible, affordable, and high-quality mental health services directly within our schools.
If you believe your child could benefit from these resources, please reach out to their school counselor to discuss the possibility of a referral for school-based counseling services.
We remain committed to creating an environment where every student has the support they need to thrive both academically and emotionally.
