Open Enrollment
Kings Local School District offers inter-district open enrollment in accordance with Board Policy 5113. Open enrollment allows students who reside outside of the Kings Local School District to apply to attend our schools.
Open enrollment applications will open on Wednesday, April 1.

Important Information
- Open enrollment is available to students residing in other Ohio school districts.
- Approval is based on available space, program capacity, and district guidelines.
- Students currently enrolled and resident students will be given priority.
- The district does not consider academic ability, extracurricular skills, or disabilities in the admission process.
- Transportation may be provided within district boundaries in accordance with Board policy.
Eligibility & Considerations
Applications are reviewed individually in accordance with State law and district policy. Factors that may impact approval include:
- Grade-level and building capacity
- Program availability
- Maintaining appropriate student balance within schools
- Disciplinary history (as defined by State guidelines)
Students may be denied admission if services required under an IEP are not available within the district.

The district reviews open enrollment annually and reserves the right to approve or deny applications based on capacity and program needs.
